Everyone's invited to participate in the creation of
everyone who plays the game can campaign for City Councilor
and Mayor. Simply make a speech on any issue you feel is important.
You can start by saying, "If elected, I promise .."
or "What this community needs is .."
If you win your election campaign, you too can be Mayor of Artcity.
The Mayor, or Lord and Lady Mayor wins the game.
Feel free to play the game, to find if it’s worth participating
as an active member of the creative community, and as
a possible investment
for a creative financial portfolio.
How to Play Artcity * The Community Council Game
Every player establishes a place of residence in a community,
by placing a token or coin ( ie. a dime or a dollar ) on the playing board.
When all players are counted in, the game begins. The game owner or
person who starts the game is Mayor until the next Mayor is elected.
Each player campaigns for public office
by giving 1 or 2 minute campaign speeches.
A campaign speech might start with
“What this community needs .... ”
or you might say, "If elected, I promise .... "
First are campaign speeches and elections for 5 City Councilors -
one for each of Artcity's 5 communities - Centertown, Sunnyside, etc.
In a grand finale, all elected councilors campaign for Mayor
for a final round of, winner-take-all campaign speeches.
When everyone has given a speech, elections are held.
One of the campaigning councilors is elected mayor,
based on campaign speeches and majority votes.
The elected mayor wins all the playing tokens and coins
on the playing board. Then the game can begin again.
